The Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic is a four-team tournament that will be played this weekend in Springfield, Mass., and is one of the oldest annual events in NCAA men’s volleyball. The opening night matches at Blake Arena have Cal Baptist facing Lees-McRae at 6:00 p.m. and Springfield battling UC Santa Cruz at 8:00 pm. Saturday features the consolation and championship matches at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively.
"This tournament always feature some of the best men's collegiate volleyball you can see on the East coast as we bring in top talent from across the country," says Hall of Fame Executive Director George Mulry. “Since 2003, the Morgan Classic has featured 10 NCAA Division I National Champions or runners-up right in our own backyard. It is a great family night out, especially for those new to volleyball."
Twitter challenge participants before the Morgan Classic begins Friday can Tweet to the Off the Block Twitter account, @offtheblock11, who they think will be in the championship match, the team that will win the tournament and in how many games.
The person who most accurately predicts the final score will receive a Volleyball Hall of Fame prize pack. The prize pack includes Morgan Classic T-shirt, a Volleyball Hall of Fame pin and a copy of the original rules to the sport.
In the event of a tie for first place at the end of the tournament, one contestant from the first-place Tweets will be randomly selected for the grand prize.
The deadline to submit a prediction for the Twitter challenge is 6 p.m. (EST) Friday.
