Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Fall At Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt., Nov. 22, 2003 -- Springfield College junior Louis Arruda won three events but the SC men dropped a 155-143 decision to Middlebury on Saturday afternoon.

Arruda won in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.75), the 200-yard butterfly (1:58. 57) and the 500 free (4:54.16). Sophomore All-American Mike Shaw won both diving events, scoring 288.53 on the one-meter board and 275.63 on the three meter.

On the women's side, junior All-American Megan Skinner won two events but Middlebury held off the Pride women, 163-135.

Skinner placed first in the 500 free (5:12.44) and the 200 back (2:11.53).

The SC men even their record at 2-2, while the women drop to 4-1.
