



Springfield, Mass. - November 13, 2012 - The Springfield College offensive line was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, after a dominating performance in Springfield's 62-23 win over WPI in its regular-season finale.The offensive line, comprised of Duke Ekblom, Mike MacDonald, Scott Leech, Andrew Savenelli, and Sean Degnan, played a major role in the Pride racking up a season-best 503 yards on the ground last week. As a whole, the Pride's totaled 590 totaled yards of offense, marking the third time in four games it went over the 500-yard mark
This season, Springfield ranks second in the nation in rushing offense, averaging 338.90 per game. The Pride also ranks first in passing efficiency, as the offensive line has helped protect Springfield's quarterbacks that have owned a 200.68 efficiency rating.
Earlier this season, sophomore defensive end Max Nacewicz was named to the national team of the week after a three-sack performance against Rochester.
The Pride will now prep to play in the ECAC Northeast Championship Bowl this upcoming Saturday when it hosts Alfred at 12:00 pm.

Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 31st season as a head football coach in the fall of 2012. He enters his 29th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 28 years, he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980. Read more.
