No. 9 Field Hockey Defeats Wellesley, 3-2

WELLESLEY, MASS., Oct. 2, 2004 – Springfield College junior
Amber Paradee (Sheldon, Vt.) scored two
goals, both on penalty strokes, to lead the No. 9 Pride to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Wellesley in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference field hockey game, this afternoon.
Wellesley jumped out to a 2-0 lead 20 minutes into the game, before a pair of SC goals by Paradee and senior
Lydia Grant (Granby, Conn.) in the last five-minutes of the half tied the game at 2-2.
Paradee netted the game winner in the 45th minute to propel the Pride (9-1, 2-0 NEWMAC) to its fifth-straight win. Wellesley dropped its second consecutive game to fall to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the NEWMAC.
