Women's Cross Country Competes In Purple Valley Classic

Sarah Knop and Gabby Gaudreault Williamstown, Mass. - September 22, 2012 - The Springfield College women’s cross country team finished competed at the Purple Valley Classic on Saturday. The Pride finished the 6,000 meter course with 482 total points to finish 15th as a team.

Williams, the host team, was able to win the event with 78 total points and four of the top 16 finishers overall.

Gabby Gaudreault was the top finisher for Springfield as she finished with a time of 25:00, good for 113th out of the 215 total runners.

Abby Wright finished 145th overall for the Pride with a time of 25:53. Sarah Knop finished next for the Pride, as she clocked in at 25:59, good for 151st overall.

Katherine Burns and Elizabeth Footit rounded out the top five finishers for the Springfield team as they finished 163rd and 165th. Burns finished with a time of 26:21. Footit finished a few seconds later with a time of 26:23.

The women’s cross country team will be back in action next weekend, as they travel to Keene, NH to compete in the Keene State Invitational.
