



Wellesley, Mass. - November 19, 2012 - For the third-straight week, a member of the Springfield College men's diving team was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Diver of the Week. Today, Kenny Pancoast was honored for the first time this season.Teammate Jack Lewis had been tabbed the conference's diver of the week for the past two weeks.
A native of Monroe, Conn. and the reigning NEWMAC Diver of the Year, Pancoast had an excellent showing in Springfield's tri-meet with Keene State and Wheaton on Saturday.
In the three-meter diving event, Pancoast won with a national-qualifying score of 304.80. He later registered the top-score on the one-meter board, once again meeting national qualifying standards with a 313.30.

John Taffe enters his 24th season in 2012-2013 as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming teams at Springfield College. Under Taffe’s leadership, the Pride has returned to its status as one of the best collegiate swimming and diving programs in Division III. Read more.
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 28th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2012-2013. The current NEWMAC Men's Diving Coach of the Year, Avdoulos has coached countless All-New England and All-American divers, as well as several National Champions. Read more.
