Sobel Snags Fifth-Straight NEWMAC Diver of the Week Honor

Sobel Picks Up NEWMAC Honors Springfield, Mass. - February 8, 2010 - For the fifth-consecutive week, Brian Sobel was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the week after yet another dominating performance this weekend at Amherst College.

In their final dual meet of the season, Sobel was once again spectacular as he turned in a record-breaking performance for the Pride. The Stratford, Conn. product notched a score of 337.12 in the one-meter dive, breaking the old school record of 336.10, which he set just last weekend at Babson. Sobel later went on to win the three-meter dive, scoring 314.47.

Sobel and the Pride will now prep for the upcoming NEWMAC Swimming and Diving Championships which will take place February 26-28 at Wheaton College. Sobel will look to repeat as NEWMAC Men's Diver of the Year.
