Seniors Greg Welch, Joe Malvezzi, and Tyler Montgomery will all suit up one final time as collegiate lacrosse players on the evening of Friday, May 30 at Harvard. Face-off is slated for 7:00 pm.
Springfield's two assistant coaches, Mike Louer and Brandon Asplundh will also serve as two of the six coaches selected to man the sidelines in the all-star showcase.
The event showcases New England's top senior collegiate players and brings the top players from Division I, II, and III together on one field.
Welch, a Peabody, Mass. native, was one of four senior captains for the Pride in his final campaign. Running on the first midfield, Welch finished with 10 goals and 10 assists to go along with 17 ground balls for the Pride.
A local product from Wilbraham, Mass., Malvezzi anchored the Pride's defense that allowed just 7.76 goals per game this season. The senior quad-captain also chipped in with 17 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.
Montgomery, who hails from Brunswick, Maine had a breakout year in his final campaign for the Pride as he led the team with 34 goals on the season. He finished with 38 points for the year, third best on the team. He was especially effective on man-up situations, as he recorded 10 man-up goals. He also had 14 ground balls as a member of the Pride's first midfield line.
