Giaquinto Tabbed as NEWMAC Player of the Week

Giaquinto Earns NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week Honors Springfield, Mass. - September 20, 2010 - Junior Kim Giaquinto was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week after guiding the Pride to a pair of conference victories last week.

The Massapequa, N.Y. native had a breakout week as Springfield downed both Babson and Coast Guard to improve to 9-1 on the season, including 2-0 in league play.

For the week, the junior opposite hitter totaled 20 kills at an impressive .444 clip while adding a total of eight blocks and three aces.

In the Pride's sweep of Babson, Giaquinto tallied 11 kills while hitting .529, to go along with three aces, three blocks, and a pair of digs. In the four-game victory at Coast Guard, she notched nine kills at a .368 clip to go along with a team-best five blocks and three digs.
