



Springfield, Mass. -- April 10, 2012 -- Kasey Kelly of the Springfield College softball team has been named the New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association Division III Player of the Week for April 10.A senior from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Kelly was earlier this week named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week. The second baseman batted an even .538 (14-of-26), had four doubles and two home runs in a 5-3 week for the team. SC went 4-0 in conference play.
She also had a .923 slugging percentage, knocked in nine runs, and scored nine more runs.
One of the victories was an 8-0 five-inning win over 16th-ranked Western Connecticut State.
Since last week, SC defeated MCLA twice yesterday at home, 7-0 and 9-1 in five innings, raising SC's record to 15-8 overall. In the most recent NEISCA weekly poll, Springfield is now ranked 10th. The Pride has now won seven in a row.

Julie Perrelli enters her fourth season at the helm of the Springfield College softball program and as an assistant professor of physical education. In her first three seasons in the dugout for the Pride, Perelli has guided Springfield to two NEWMAC Championship title games. Read more.
