



Babson Park, Mass. - January 23, 2012 - After a pair of terrific performances last week, Alex Berthiaume was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.A local product from Springfield, Mass., Berthiaume helped the Pride to a pair of conference wins as Springfield has now won four straight games to move into a tie for first place in the league standings.
In two contests, the junior guard averaged 20.5 points per game while shooting 55% from the floor.
He poured in 24 points on the road, connecting on nine of his 15 shots, as the Pride knocked off Wheaton by 26 points. Over the weekend, Berthiaume controlled the tempo against Clark, notching 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting to go along with six boards.

Charlie Brock in 2013-14 will enter his 16th season as the head coach at Springfield College and his 34th season as a head coach overall. Brock’s achievements as a coach are certainly impressive. He has taken three schools to the NCAA Division III Tournament and has an overall, 32-year record of 440-397. Read more.
