It was Springfield's home opener of the 2010 season.
Brockport wound up winning all four events, plus went 1-2 in the All-Around. Placing first in the All-Around was freshman Elizabeth Levy (Glen Allen, Va.) with a score of 37.400. Behind her was freshman teammate Natalie Sroda (Goffstown, N.H.) at 36.850.
The event that brought separation between these two teams came in the uneven parallel bars. Brockport scored 46.625 to the Pride's 43.550. The difference in the other three events was negligible. Brockport finished 1-2-3-4 in the uneven parallel bars. Senior Nicole Horodyski (Gainesville, Fla.) finished first at 9.575, followed by senior Christina Baggetta (Latham, N.Y.) at 9.425, Sroda at 9.325, and Levy at 9.275.
Springfield's best in the uneven parallel bars was sophomore Megan German (Spencer, Mass.) at 9.025.
In the balance beam, Brockport's Levy placed first with a score of 9.425. She was followed by SC senior Audrey Lastra (New Milford, Conn.) at 9.400.
In the vault, it was Brockport's Gildemeyer capturing first with a score of 9.600. Behind her was junior Kaitlin Dewey (Saratoga, N.Y.) with a score of 9.525. A Springfield duo went 3-4. They were senior Ericca Castagna (Topsfield, Mass.) at 9.425, and junior Christina Pagella (Westfield, Mass.) at 9.375.
In the floor exercise, Gildemeyer (9.800) and Levy (9.575) went 1-2. SC went 3-4-5-6. They were freshman Brittany Baglow (Amherst, Mass.) at 9.525, and Pagella, also at 9.525 (tying for third). Senior Lizzie Sartell (Narragansett, R.I.) finished fifth at 9.500, followed by Castagna at 9.475, who tied for sixth.
Next Saturday (Jan. 30), Springfield travels to Ithaca for a meet that starts at 12 noon.
