Hepper Leads Men's Cross-Country to Seventh at Southern Maine Invitational
CUMBERLAND, Maine, Oct. 16, 2004 - Led by sophomore
Pat Hepper (Bernards, N.J.), Springfield College placed seventh at the University of Southern Maine Invitational.
Hepper was the Pride's top runner, finishing 24th overall out 153 individuals. He crossed the finish line of the eight-kilometer course in 27:58.
Senior co-captain
Steve Wilson (West Hartford, Conn.) was second for SC (32nd overall, 28:25) followed by senior
Pat DeRocco (Utica, N.Y.) (38th, 28:34) and fellow co-captain, junior
Scott Barton (Fort Plain, N.Y.) (44th, 28:48). Sophomore
Pat Gann (Guilford, Conn.) rounded out the top five for Springfield College placing 47th with a time of 28:52.
The Pride returns to Cumberland, Maine, on November 13 to compete in the NCAA Divison III Regional Cross Country Championships.

Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
