Baseball Falls To Trinity College, 13-4
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 29, 2003 – Trinity College sophomore outfielder Robert O’Leary went 3-for-3 with four RBI, including a three-run home run in the eighth, as the Bantams (17-7) defeated Springfield College, 13-4, this afternoon at Berry-Allen Field.
SC (15-15) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Trinity committed two errors, allowing junior shortstop
Toby Cole (Blue Hill, Maine) and junior second baseman
Dan Samia (North Adams, Mass.) to score. After that, it was all Trinity, as sophomore pitcher Joe Westcott hurled seven innings, allowing one earned run on three hits to improve to 3-0.
For Springfield, sophomore first baseman
Matt Talbot (Athol, Mass.) went 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI.
SC travels to North Adams, Mass., to take on Mass. College of Liberal Arts Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
