Women’s Cross Country Records 13th-Place Finish at Connecticut College Invitational

New London, Conn.- October 13, 2012 – The Springfield College women’s cross country team finished 13th out of 20 competing teams at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday. The Pride finished the 6,000 meter course with 342 total points.

Tufts was able to win the event with a low score of 54 total points and four of the top 12 finishers overall.

Gabriella Gaudreault was the top finisher for Springfield as she came in 22nd of the 244 runners after finishing with a time of 22:49.

Sarah Knop was the second finisher for SC as she finished 73rd overall with a time of 24:14.

Erica Fisher finished right after Knop for 74th overall for the Pride with a time of 24:15. Abby Wright finished next for the Pride, as she clocked in at 24:45, good for 86th overall.

Elizabeth Footit rounded out the top five finishers for the Springfield team as she finished 87th overall. Footit finished with a time of 24:47.

The women’s cross country team will be back in two weekends, as they travel to Northampton, Mass. to compete in the NEWMAC Championships.
