Lynch Named NEWMAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

Ryon Lynch Boston, Mass. - April 28, 2014 - Springfield College's Ryon Lynch (Frederick, Md.) has been selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The senior attackman posted a pair of six-point performances against both Clark, in a 22-7 victory and second-ranked Babson, leading the team to a 14-3 victory which clinched the NEWMAC regular-season title. This is the fifth weekly honor that the Pride have picked up from the NEWMAC this season.

The Physical Education major leads the team with 39 assists and 60 points and is now ranked No. 16 in the nation and first in the NEWMAC, averaging 2.62 assists per game.

The top-seeded Pride will begin play in the NEWMAC tournament on Wednesday, hosting No. 4 Clark at 7:00 p.m. on Stagg Field. Last week, the two teams met in a regular season match up, with Springfield rolling to a 22-7 win.
