Price Places Third in 100 Breaststroke On Second Day of NCAA Championships
OXFORD, Ohio - March 14, 2008
- On the second day of the 27th Annual NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Miami’s (Ohio) Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center, Springfield College's Moira Price
finished third in the country in the 100 yard breaststroke.
A native of Berkeley Heights, N.J., Price qualified for the finals with a time of 1:04.44 after the preliminary swim. The junior responded in the finals with a time of 1:03.88, good enough for third place in the country. Price continued to prove she is one of the nation's top swimmers as she garnered All-American status for the second time during this meet. She had finished 13th in the 50 free one day earlier.
Price will swim the 200 breaststroke on Saturday and enters the event as the top seeded swimmer in the country.
Kallie Pottle also competed on Friday for the Pride in the 100 backstroke. Pottle finished 26th overall with a time of 59.55.
