Lewis and Thompson Sweep NEWMAC Diver of the Week Honors

Springfield College's Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.)
and Jennifer Thompson (Cheshire, Conn.)
swept the honors of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Divers of the Week.
Lewis was chosen as the NEWMAC Men's Diver of the Week for the third-straight week, continuing to shine in the diving events for the Pride this week. Against Williams, the junior won the one-meter with a 304.87 and posted a winning score of 285.83 on the three-meter. The following day, Lewis registered national qualifying scores on both boards, winning the one-meter (294.95) and placing second on the three-meter (285.95).
Thompson had a standout week for the Pride as it competed three times. She opened the week with a strong showing against Smith, posting the winning score on the one-meter (262.65) and posting a national-qualifying mark of 282.07 on the three-meter. On Friday against Williams, she took first on the three-meter with a 280.34. In a tri-meet with Wheaton and Keene State, she swept the competition, posting national qualifying scores on the one-meter (280.90) and three-meter (305.7).

Diving Coach Peter Avdoulos
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and is entering his 29th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2013-2014.
