Doe, a sophmore from Haverhill, Mass. had a solid week for the Pride as she was the NEWMAC Female Swimmer of the Week. In Saturday's tri-meet sweep of Wheaton and Keene State, Doe finished first in the 1,000 free in a time of 10:58.43, ten seconds faster than second place. She also anchored the 200 free relay team that finished first in 1:41.76. In Sunday's win over Middlebury, Doe claimed victory in the 200 freestyle (2:00.02) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:23.70). She also anchored the 400 medley relay team that touched first in 4:05.92.
Kijanka, a junior product Methuen, Mass. continued to have a successful season for the Pride on the diving boards. Against Wheaton and Keene State, Kijanka placed first in both boards as the Pride swept the top three spots. Kijanka posted a 242.77 on the three-meter and a 230.39 on the one-meter in a pair of victories. On Sunday, Kijanka picked up a close win as she scored a 241.51, just 0.31 better than second place. In the 3 meter competition, Kijanka finished second with a score of 232.65.
On the men's side, Sobel picked up his second weekly honor of the year as he was named the Men's Diver of the Week. The Stratford, Conn. native tallied a 296.55 on the three-meter board for the victory, a qualifying score for the NCAA Championships on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Sobel turned in another outstanding performance as he once again swept the diving competition. Sobel scored a 269.02 in the one meter competition and followed that up by posting a 303.98 in the three meter competition, more then 60 points greater then the second-place finisher. Both scores were once again national qualifying scores for the sophomore. His two scores on the three-meter this weekend were good enough for the fourth and sixth highest scores in the country to date.
