No. 1 Men's Volleyball Handles Hope International, 3-0

Fullerton, Calif. - January 14, 2011 - The Springfield College men's volleyball team picked up its first win of the 2011 season as it swept host Hope International College on Friday evening. The Pride won by the set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 25-19.

The Pride now stand at 1-1 on the season after dropping a three-set match to NAIA-power Cal Baptist earlier in the evening.

Springfield's middle blockers were dominant in the match as All-American Cal Palumbo posted a team-best eight kills at a .700 clip to go along with three blocks. Fellow All-American Greg Falcone added six kills while hitting .714 and led the Pride with four blocks. Nick Ferry and Mike Pelletier finished the match with five digs each. Mike Becker delivered 29 assists in the victory.
