Springfield, Mass. - April 16, 2010 - Senior forward Pat Crean was selected to play in the New England Basketball Coaches Association (NEBCA) annual Division III Senior All-Star Game this Sunday, April 18, at Babson College, with all proceeds benefitting the Coaches vs. Cancer campaign. The rosters were selected by several committees made up of area college coaches and are being released by Stephen Brennan, the NEBCA President. The teams will play at Staake Gymnasium on the campus of Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts this Sunday, April 18 at 1:00 pm. Admission into the game is free.
Thirty players were selected to play in the game and Crean was one of three players from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. Crean will join MIT's Billy Johnson and Clark's Jack Minister in the game.
Arguably one of the grittiest players in program history, Crean was selected to the NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team in his final season in Maroon and White. The co-captain averaged a career-best 14.8 points per game and added 6.3 rebounds per game to go along with 3.3 assists. Playing just over 31 minutes a game, Crean also ranked third in the conference in steals at 1.74 a game.
Much in part to his aggressive play, Crean led the conference in free throw attempts and free throws made, as his 203 attempts was the sixth highest single-season total in program history. The Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. native has been a factor since his freshman year, and was a true iron man, never missing a game in his four-year career, starting every game except three.

Charlie Brock in 2013-14 will enter his 16th season as the head coach at Springfield College and his 34th season as a head coach overall. Brock’s achievements as a coach are certainly impressive.
