No. 11 Field Hockey's Amber Paradee Named NEWMAC Player of the Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., - October 24, 2004 -- Springfield College junior forward
Amber Paradee (Sheldon, Vt.) was named New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week in field hockey today.
Paradee scored three goals last week in a pair of conference wins that clinched No. 11 SC the top seed in the upcoming NEWMAC tournament. She paced the Pride with two goals in a 6-0 win at Smith last Tuesday (Oct. 19), and tallied the game winner as the Pride blanked MIT, 5-0, on Saturday (Oct. 23).
The Pride’s leading scorer, she ranks second in the conference in goals (13) and points (31).
SC takes on WPI tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. on Benedum Field in it's final regular season game. The Pride look to go undefeated in the NEWMAC regular season for the first time since 1998.
