Women’s Gymnastics Upsets Yale, 178.475-178.450
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Jan. 10, 2004 – Springfield College junior
Jolene Woznicki (Warren, Conn.) won on the balance beam (9.325) as the Pride topped Yale University, 178.475-178.450, in the season-opener for both teams this afternoon in Blake Arena.
SC junior
Larrisa Tabin (Holyoke, Mass.) was the Pride’s top performer in the floor exercise, placing third (9.300). Tabin also tied for third on the balance beam (9.100) with SC senior
Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, Mass.). Romano-Joseph was fourth on the floor (9.175).
SC freshman
Jillian Silverman (Ipswich, Mass.) turned in a strong performance in her collegiate debut, finishing second on the vault (9.200).
For Yale, Miki Seltzer (Vienna, Va.) won the all-around (36.000) and placed first on the vault (9.2500), and senior Jamie Green (Los Angeles) won on the floor (9.450).
