Men's Track & Field Competes At FasTrack Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. Feb. 14 - Springfield College senior Michael Heitkamp (Orwell, Vt.) finished third in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 5 inches (1.96 meters) to lead the Pride at the FasTrack Invitational at Boston University. The meet included Division I, II, III and open competitors from around the East Coast.

Senior Jason Jackson (Phippsburg, Maine) ran to fourth-place in the 200-meter dash (21.90 seconds), while sophomore Blake Gulino (Old Saybrook, Conn.) lept to sixth place in the long jump (21 feet, 6 1/4 inches, 6.56 meters) as both finished as the top Division III competitors in each event.

Ken Klatka Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage.
