Women's Gymnastics Fifth At ECAC Championships

ITHACA, N.Y., March 20, 2004 – Springfield College senior
Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, Mass.) tied for second on vault to lead the Pride to fifth place at the 2004 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s Gymnastics Championships on Saturday.
Romano-Joseph, who scored a 9.500 on vault, also placed 12th in the all-around competition (36.425).
SC scored 180.700 overall. Brockport won the ECAC Championship by edging Ithaca, 188.125-187.125.
A pair of first-year gymnasts scored well in their first appearances at the ECAC Championships. Sophomore
Larissa Tabin (Holyoke, Mass.) turned in an excellent performance in the floor exercise. Her score of 9.600 was good for a fourth-place tie with Ithaca’s Kelly Stevison. Freshman
Kerriann Hart (Hanover, Mass.) recorded top-10 efforts on the uneven bars (9th/9.350) and the all-around (10th/36.500).
