Men's And Women's Swimming & Diving Fall At Middlebury
MIDDLEBURY, Vt., Nov. 22, 2003 -- Springfield College junior
Louis Arruda
won three events but the SC men dropped a 155-143 decision to Middlebury on
Saturday afternoon.
Arruda won in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.75), the 200-yard butterfly
(1:58. 57) and the 500 free (4:54.16). Sophomore All-American
Mike Shaw won
both diving events, scoring 288.53 on the one-meter board and 275.63 on the
three meter.
On the women's side, junior All-American
Megan Skinner won two events but
Middlebury held off the Pride women, 163-135.
Skinner placed first in the 500 free (5:12.44) and the 200 back (2:11.53).
The SC men even their record at 2-2, while the women drop to 4-1.

Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 29th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2013-2014.
