Springfield, Mass. - February 28, 2010 - On Sunday, March 7, the Springfield College women's gymnastics team is hosting Yale University and Rhode Island College in what is being tabbed the “Tumble for Teal” meet. The meet, which is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm, is dedicated to help raise Gynecological Cancer Awareness.
All donations made during the meet will be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Center and Team Maureen, a group founded in memory of SC gymnast Maureen Duffey ’91. For more information about Team Maureen visit www.myspace.com/teammaureen.
Teal bracelets will be on sale throughout the meet, while there will be an information desk at the meet to provide any answers to questions you may have.
Raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the day, with a grand prize of an I-Pod Touch. Spectators will also be able to help raise money for awareness by sponsoing the SC gymnastics team through pledges for routine scores of 8.5 to 10.0.
