2,000 SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE VOLUNTEERS TACKLE 100 COMMUNITY PROJECTS ON ANNUAL "HUMANICS IN ACTION DAY" Wielding weed whackers, paint brushes, shovels, and tutorial equipment, 2,000 Springfield College students and members of the faculty and staff tackled more than 100 projects in the community in a day of concentrated service Sept. 23. COLLEGE HOLDS OPENING CEREMONY FOR NEW STUDENT RESIDENCE HALL Springfield College held an official opening ceremony for The Suites, its new $10 million student residence hall, on Oct. 1 in the courtyard at the building entrance. Read more.

PRESIDENT NAMED DISTINGUISHED ALUM BY ALMA MATER Pres. Richard B. Flynn received the distinguished alumnus award from MacMurray College in Illinois at a ceremony held on the MacMurray campus during their recent Homecoming weekend. Flynn earned a bachelor of science degree from the college in 1964. He previously was inducted into the MacMurray athletic hall of fame and, last May, was the college's commencement speaker and honorary doctoral degree recipient.

JOHNSON NAMED BOSTON CAMPUS DIRECTOR OF SHS The Springfield College School of Human Services (SHS) has named Ulrich Johnson of Dorchester, Mass. as assistant dean and campus director of the Boston Campus, located in the Schrafft Center. Read more.
