PRINCETON REVIEW SELECTS YMCAs AMONG "BEST ENTRY-LEVEL JOBS" FOR COLLEGE GRADS America's YMCAs rank among the top organizations and companies in the U.S. for college grads to launch their careers, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company ranks America's Ys among the 66 great places to work, in its recently published book, Best Entry-Level Jobs (Random House / Princeton Review Books, April 2004). In researching the book, authors interviewed Paul Katz, director of YMCA relations at Springfield College. Read more...
COLLEGE ARCHIVIST SELECTED Paige Roberts, currently of Portsmouth, N.H., has been named Springfield College Archivist. Roberts received a master's degree in library and information science with a concentration in archives management from Simmons College in May. She also holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from George Washington University. While a student at Simmons, she worked as an intern in the Northeastern University Archives and Special Collections. Prior to that, Roberts served as executive director for both the Historical Society in Beverly, Mass., and the Immigrant City Archives in Lawrence, Mass. She will fill the position left vacant with the recent retirement of archivist Gerald Davis.

JAROSZEWICZ, ACCIAIOLI ARE ALL-AMERICANS IN TRACK & FIELD Springfield College senior Pawel Jaroszewicz (East Longmeadow, Mass.) capped an amazing senior season by earning All-America honors in the 400 meters at the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Millikin University. PAUL PURDY AND TAYLOR BROWN NAMED HONORABLE MENTION ALL-AMERICANS IN MEN'S LACROSSE Springfield College senior attackman Paul Purdy (Brewster, N.Y.) and sophomore attackman Taylor Brown (Portsmouth, R.I.) were named honorable mention STX/USILA Division III All-Americans after leading the Pride to its fourth Pilgrim Lacrosse League Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in the last five years.
