Location:Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton, MA Job Code: B12450 Categories: Administrative / Clerical Nursing Retail / Wholesale Customer Service Req #: B12450 Department: Childbirth Schedule: Part Time Shift: Day and Evening Shift Hours: 7a-7p Job Details: Posted 9-26-12 MAIN FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager and/or the Administrative Director of the ChildbirthCenter and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, responsible for performing a variety of duties related to scrubbing for Cesarean-Sections, planning, preparing and maintaining surgical instrumentation and surgical field peri-operatively and intra-operatively. Post-operatively responsible for room and instrument decontamination; stocking the OR, LDRs, Nursery, and Postpartum Rooms, as well as, routinely removing all outdated supplies and forms. Responsible for performing a variety of direct and non-direct patient care duties, including clerical, supply and messenger responsibilities. Will also work as unit secretary when needed in the department Work with all professional disciplines as a Childbirth team member to ensure effective and efficient patient-family care, the achievement of desired patient outcomes, as well as patient-family safety and satisfaction. . MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: · High school diploma or equivalent required · Successful completion of a program in surgical technology from an approved school required. AST Certification required · Current CPR Certification · Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time. · Basic computer skills- program specific training provided during orientation · Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. · Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
