Position Description:
| Orthopedic Physician Assistant:
Hartford based, sports medicine fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons in private practice setting are seeking a Full Time Physician Assistant with orthopedic experience. Our practice is focused on knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery with an emphasis on sports medicine. We pride ourselves in administering outstanding and innovative orthopaedic care. We are a regional leader and pioneer in minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, joint reconstruction, fractures and orthopedic injuries.
Physician Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform initial and follow up examinations
• Develop treatment plans for patient and provide case management
• Provide Operating Room assistance as necessary
• Schedule surgical procedures and diagnostic tests as warranted
• Ensure that same day care is available to patients with acute illness or minor injuries
• Prescribe and monitor patient medications
• Participate in the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures
• Cast and DME application
• Review and interpret lab and diagnostic test results
• Maintain appropriate billing and coding practices
• Schedule: Monday – Friday (except for occasional game coverage)
• Meet On-call obligations
• Hospital rounding
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as assigned
• Experience preferred, but new graduates welcome to apply

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidate must possess current unrestricted Connecticut Physician Assistant License
