Position Description:
| Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Department
FT 40 Hours, rotation onto all shifts, up to every other weekend /holiday
Provide direct clinical management of patients in the Emergency Department with an E.D. attending and other members of the health care team. Manage multiple patients with varying acuities. Provide care in all areas of the Emergency Department. Positively interact with patients, families, and all members of the multidisciplinary health care team and outside agencies.
Exceptional physical assessment skills required. 6 months experience assessment/diagnosis/treatment of health disruptions and trauma conditions. Suturing, minor surgical skills, splinting/casting, gyn exam (job or preceptorship experience). Strongly preferred: minimum 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine. Proficiency with minor surgical skills essential. Required: Strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical\nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality and efficiency. The ability to positively react to a busy, demanding, and dynamic clinical atmosphere with varying patient volumes, acuities, and medical problems.
APRN: Family Nurse Practitioner certification and master’s degree required.
PA-C: graduation from an accredited PA program (Elective rotation in Emergency Medicine strongly preferred), Masters degree preferred.
APRN/PA CT license, current certification, Federal DEA license required.
